Now this is interesting sociological, behavioral tendency I’ve noticed in myself and others over the years. And in part it somewhat humorous but on the other hand since we are talking about wellness and general success in life, it sad too.

One could start comparing themselves to others and say or think ‘hey I’m not that fat –  look at those guys!’.  Or we can also start to  lower our standards to the average body weight, fat percentage of the local area were living in. I have seen this over the many cities I’ve lived in over the years how people in the area things in these similar body fat percentage versus others.

On the other hand, if you move to a more athletic city where people are more concerned about their looks such as, say South Beach or you could even argue New York City,  particularly if you’re single,  then the competition simply goes up in regards to attractiveness standards which compels many others in the area to be inspired to getting better shape in order to compete or just simply as inspiration to be better.   

But what do you do if you live in an area that is lackadaisical about their body fat percentage levels?  Sure moving sounds like fun idea but that may not be practical for many people.

But maybe even get some inspiration from magazines, social media particularly Instagram since a lot of people seem to enjoy posting pictures of themselves showing their achievements while being inspired by other’s lean and toned body achievements.
